The University of Chicago Press is pleased to announce that Russell Harper will become editor of the “Chicago Style Q&A” at CMOS Online and editor of the CMOS Shop Talk blog beginning January 1, 2019.
Harper has a long association with the Press and The Chicago Manual of Style, having served as principal reviser for both the 16th and 17th editions of the Manual. He also contributed to the 8th and 9th editions of Kate L. Turabian’s Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations and has advised the Q&A and blog for many years. Previous to and during his work on the Manual, he was a manuscript editor in the Books Division at the Press; before that, he worked in printing and typesetting.
Harper replaces Carol Fisher Saller, who retires at the end of this year.
